ABOUT NLSON

NLSON, born as Nelson Eduardo Correia, is a Portuguese producer, DJ and community activist based in Zurich, Switzerland. He is known as an innovative force in the alternative music and nightlife scene in Switzerland. Growing up, he was exposed to a lot of different sounds. His dad shared his record collection from early on, where NLSON would find all the early 70s classics from Blues to Rock and Reggae. His mother, born and raised in Angola, passed on her passion for west African music, specially from Cape Verde, Angola, and Guiné-Bissau, which he considers as a big influence on his music. NLSON's second hometown Lisbon has always been a big source of inspiration.
The artist sees himself as a guest to African and Caribbean culture as well as to the diaspora community. His aim is to collaborate with upcoming artists, highlighting their work, providing platforms and speak up about systemic and structural discrimination and disadvantages for non-white artists.
NLSON is involved in several cultural and nightlife event series where he creates community-driven experiences for cultural and social exchange through music. After being engaged in remixing/editing songs for club shows and producing for several Swiss artists NLSON is now ready to engage as a producer-artist.
